The story of Casa Kalista is one of deep friendship, unexpected journeys, and a shared passion to create soulful spaces that leave lasting impressions.It began with Sameer Shah, who started his journey in 2012 as a humble hairdresser. Through years of dedication and creative mastery, he built Kalista Beyond Hair, now a well-loved luxury salon brand in Mumbai with two thriving branches by 2024,known not just for styling, but for experience, detail, and care.
In 2025, Sameer discovered an old, almost-forgotten bungalow nestled in Malavli .Overgrown, empty, and full of silent potential. He saw more than ruins; he saw a canvas. That’s when he called me-Saif Shah.
We’ve been friends for years, but more than that, we’re brothers by bond. I come from a law background, but I’ve always been a traveller at heart. I’ve journeyed across countries, stayed in boutique villas, lived through cultures, and collected countless experiences. The kind you carry in your heart long after you’ve checked out. So when I stood in that dead lawn with Sameer and looked at the bones of this place, I knew exactly what it could become.
I knew how a guest wants to feel.
I knew the value of mood, lighting, silence, and space.
I knew how to create magic.
And so together we built
Casa Kalista.
From cutting wild trees to planting fresh life, from hand-selecting tiles to choosing the exact shade of beige for the walls, we did everything ourselves, side by side with our team. Every corner here from the banana trees to the outdoor jacuzzi to the boutique room names like Luna and Zephyr carries our personal imprint.
This isn’t just a villa. It’s our joint dream, nurtured like a child and crafted with soul.
